[Title] => Coal plant expansion: Salcon, town execs no show in hearing
[Summary] => Officials of Naga town and the Salcon Power Corporation did not show up at the public hearing on coal-fired power plants at the Provincial Capitol yesterday afternoon.
Salcon, which is proposing to build additional coal-fired power plants to its existing plant in Colon, Naga, had sent a letter to Provincial Board member Victor Maambong, asking to have the hearing reset until it secures a clearance from its Manila office.
"In this situation, we need a clearance from Manila," Maambong quoted Salcon's letter, which was faxed to his office yesterday morning.
