[Title] => Supreme Court rules in Ilusorio case
[Summary] => The Supreme Court has denied with finality the petition filed by Erlinda Ilusorio, wife of the late billionaire Potenciano Ilusorio, who wanted to compel her husband to live with her. The Ilusorio patriarch, a lawyer-businessman by profession, died at 86.
In an eight-page resolution, the SCs first division held that its May 2000 decision still stands in view of the fact that Erlinda did not raise new arguments that could make them change their mind, not to mention Potencianos death last June 28.

[Title] => A family quarrel with a public interest - FROM A DISTANCE by Carmen N. Pedrosa
[Summary] =>
On the surface, it would seem that the saga of the Ilusorio family, chronicled by a national daily is tabloid stuff, a concession to the curiosity and propensity for gossip by the newspaper-reading public. I know members of the family on both sides. By pursuing some questions I hope that this would not be misconstrued as taking sides. Journalists ought to be chroniclers of public events and if they take on private affairs they do so with the public interest aspect in mind.
