BAGUIO CITY — A radio broadcaster in Aurora, known for his environmental advocacy, has remained missing since he was believed abducted eight months ago. 


Voicing its outrage over the disappearance of radioman Joey Estriber, the Paris-based Reporters Sans Frontiers (Reporters Without Borders) demanded an explanation for what it described as the "indifference" of both local and national authorities to his fate.

                    [Summary] => BALER, Aurora – A radio anchorman, who was abducted by unidentified men here last week, may still be alive and may have gone into hiding, police said yesterday.


Chief Superintendent Alejandro Lapinid, Central Luzon police director, said in an interview on radio station dzRH that there is a strong possibility that Joey Estriber is still alive. 


He said the PNP is investigating the text messages which Estriber had supposedly sent to his colleagues.

A media watchdog quoted the colleagues of Joey Estriber, 37, anchorman of the Pag-usapan Natin program on dzJO, as saying that he was snatched at about 6:20 p.m. near an Internet café on Burgos street in Baler, the capital town of Aurora. 


According to witnesses, Estriber resisted as four men dragged him to a maroon Besta van with tinted windows and no license plate.
