                    [Summary] => ZAMBOANGA (AFP) — The Philippines’ Muslim Abu Sayyaf group is demanding $68,100 (roughly P3.7 million) for the release of two Malaysians and an Indonesian it has kidnapped, a military source said yesterday. 


The Abu Sayyaf made the demand in telephone calls to the employers of the men, who were abducted from a barge near Lingkian island off the Malaysian state of Sabah on April 11, said the source, who asked to not be identified.

                    [Summary] => COTABATO CITY — Authorities arrested the other day two more suspects in the Jan. 4 bombing of a basketball game in Parang, Maguindanao that killed 22 people and caused serious injuries to 71 others, among them the town’s re-electionist mayor, Vivencio Bataga. 


Bataga, chairman of the municipal peace and order council, identified the suspects as Khalid Macapaar and a certain Omar, both nabbed by lawmen in a secluded barangay in Matanog, Maguindanao.
