Three women were killed and three men were injured in an early morning fire that struck a two-story boarding house in Barangay Pio del Pilar in Makati City, Friday.

The victims, who sustained several stab wounds in various parts of their bodies, were identified as Narcisa Elpedis, 60, her daughter Jona Borja, 32 and Juliana, who was seven months old.

No casualties or injuries were reported in both incidents.

Arson investigator F01 Marcelino Espeso III of the Caloocan Bureau of Fire Protection, said the first incident occurred around 1:15 a.m. at the Ever Gotesco Grand Central basement. The fire, which officials said lasted only for a few minutes, has been initially blamed on faulty electrical wiring.
