The Unified Vehicle Volume Reduction Program (UVVRP), or number coding scheme, will be suspended throughout Metro Manila today, which has been declared a holiday to mark Eid’l Fitr, the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.Even Makati City, which implements a similar, but separate traffic law as a local ordinance, suspended the scheme.


The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) automatically lifts the UVVRP on holidays since there are less vehicles plying the streets.

Apart from Filipino and English, these street marshals can greet as well as explain to you the traffic violation you committed in Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.


DPS chief Hermie San Miguel said his men underwent special language courses to improve their power to communicate with foreigners.
