Una rito ang pagbeberipikang mabuti ng Sacred College of Cardinals o Camerlengo ng kamatayan ng una sa pamamagitan ng pagtayo sa gilid ng kama nito at tatlong beses na pagtawag ng kanyang pangalan at kapag hindi ito sumagot ay iaanunsiyo na nito at iaayos ang singsing kung saan nakasulat dito ang pangalan ng Papa at ang pagsira sa papal seal.
