[Title] => Rescued dolphin dies
[Summary] => ZAMBOANGA CITY (AFP) A beached dolphin rescued by navy commandos in the Philippines has died, apparently of spear wounds that were not spotted when the animal was first found, a wildlife official said yesterday.
The eight-foot-long animal, believed to be a Rissos dolphin, died before it could be returned to the sea as experts had recommended, said Edgardo Visquera, the regions wildlife protection director.
Marine biologists said the mature female had small spear wounds that apparently caused its death.
