Kamatuoran, Inc (KI), a church-based organization that works towards a narco-politics free Philippines asks the question:


Why is it despite the efforts of the PNP and other agencies are doing drug menace continues?


One primary reason is narcopolitics or "the use of drug money to corrupt and usurp the political system, making it subservient to the illegal drugs trade" (Pastoral Statement, Ricardo J. Cardinal Vidal. Archbishop of Cebu June 2002).

                    [Summary] => CEBU CITY — It was raining Saturday afternoon when slain suspected big-time drug pusher Joel Nodalo was laid to rest at the Carreta cemetery, but this did not deter thousands who attended the funeral of the man they called their hero. 


The mourners came from Barangays Ermita, Pasil and Tejero in Cebu City, from Lapu-Lapu City and even from Banakon Island in Bohol. 


For them, Nodalo was a hero who helped them in his own simple ways in their times of need, and they even assailed the media for painting a bad picture of Nodalo, whom they called "Tongol."
