                    [Summary] => The Bureau of Customs (BoC) abolished yesterday the Warrant and Motor Vehicle Unit (WMVU) and replaced it with the Vehicle Importation Compliance Monitoring Unit (VICMU) to enhance the effectiveness of the bureau’s monitoring capability on vehicle importation.


The VICMU, according to BoC Commissioner Antonio Bernardo, will streamline the procedures involved in the issuance and transmittal to the Land Transportation Office (LTO) of certificates of payment (CPs) for imported vehicles and to plug tax leaks attendant thereto.
