Troops from the Army’s 18th Infantry Battalion backed by militiamen fought 30 heavily armed Abu Sayyaf terrorists under Commander Amir Mingkong in Sitio Ombasan, Barangay Sinulatan, he added.

                    [Summary] => ZAMBOANGA CITY — Two soldiers and a civilian were killed while two others, including a junior officer, were wounded when Abu Sayyaf bandits clashed with government troops in a remote village in Sumisip town in Basilan, a military officer said yesterday.


The soldiers who were aboard a military vehicle were attacked along the road between the villages of Pamatsaken and Limbo Candis on Wednesday morning. 


Reports reaching Camp Aguinaldo identified the fatalities as Pfc. Mahail Jumdana and Pfc. Raja Teajili and civilian Munib Abduho.

The military believed that the camp, located within a durian and mangosteen orchard in Sitio Bungkaong, Barangay Danag in Patikul, was being used by an Abu Sayyaf band led by Radulan Sahiron.
