PNOC-EDC vice president for technical services Manuel Ogena said they are currently negotiating with the governments of the two countries for possible geothermal development projects.


Aside from these two potential markets, Ogena said PNOC-EDC has recently bagged contracts with the Iranian government.

"We will be a sub-contractor for a project in the Middle East.  The contract is for the exploration, drilling and reservoir (EDR) management," PNOC-EDC president and CEO Paul A. Aquino said.


Aquino said their group may stand a good chance of bagging the contract since there are a very few companies that have the same expertise as PNOC-EDC.

"We have been talking to a lot of countries including Bangladesh, Cambodia, Indonesia, Iran and Kazakhstan for possible geothermal development projects," EDC president Paul Aquino said. 


Aquino said EDC is now in the final negotiation stages with at least three of these countries for a potential geothermal exploration. 


He said they are currently in exploratory talks with the Iranian and Indonesian governments.
