In a circular issued by Msgr. Roberto Canlas, chancellor of the archdiocese, the impostor was identified as Carlo Layson, who claims to be a priest from the Archdiocese of Capiz.
"Fr. Carlo Layson is not a Roman Catholic priest. He has misled a great number of our faithful by celebrating the sacraments. He has celebrated Mass, he presided at a couples weddings and has baptized several children," Canlas said.
