"We hope to push through with the development of this resource in the soonest possible time. First quarter is a good target," Lotilla said.

The Department of Energy (DOE) will offer 10 more oil and gas exploration blocks under the third Public Contracting Round (PCR), aiming to raise more than $200-million worth of investments in these areas, a ranking DOE official said.
In an interview with reporters, Energy Undersecretary Guillermo Balce said they would announce the start of PCR 3 by December this year.
He said it would take at least six months to complete the process. By July 2007, he said they expect to award the contracts to the investors.

Energy Secretary Raphael P.M. Lotilla told reporters that interested parties will be given up to April 17 to respond to the PNOC’s invitation.
Lotilla said after the submission of the individual proposals, the selected party would be announced by June 2 this year.
