                    [Summary] => SUBIC, Zambales — Six Filipino fishermen, who had been adrift in China Sea without food and water for almost a month, returned home to this town yesterday after being rescued by a Taiwanese fishing vessel.


In another incident, the Coast Guard rescued 18 crewmen of the motor barge LCT Golden Asia, which capsized off Boracay Island in Aklan last Sunday.


In Bataan, Coast Guard personnel were still searching for six crewmen of a motor tanker which caught fire off La Monja Island.

                    [Summary] => Combined operations by the Philippine Coast Guard and the Philippine Navy have resulted in the arrest of seven Taiwanese fishermen poaching on Philippine waters in Batanes and Cagayan over the weekend. The arrest came as the government intensifies its campaign against poaching on the country’s northern sea as tuna fishes from the North Pacific Ocean make their annual migration to Palawan’s waters.


PCG spokesman Lt. Armand Balilo identified the fishing boats used by the Taiwanese as F/B CT3-3995 and F/B Teresita.
