DOHA, Qatar – More than 5,000 volunteers spent a day at the Athlete’s Village (AV) last Friday and half of them enjoyed a sleepover at the $600 million residential project that is set to be transformed into a state-of-the-art medical facility after the Asian Games Doha 2006.

Leaving the cheering crowds of Busan behind, the Flame of Hospitality on October 15 set out from Korea for the next stop on its epic journey - Manila, capital of the Philippines.



Throngs of supporters have crowded the streets in each of the three cities the Torch has passed through so far, with the people of Delhi, Agra and Busan eager to catch a glimpse of the 15th Asian Games Torch Relay.

                    [Summary] => Over 300 school children from the city of Manila joined and finished the Asian Games 3K Fun Run early yesterday morning to celebrate sports and highlight the 15th Asian Games scheduled in Doha, Qatar in 2006.


Organized by the Olympic Council of Asia to promote the forthcoming quadrennial event, the event is one of similar races held earlier this year in India, South Korea, Thailand, China and Syria and will be continued next year in Vietnam, Turkmenistan, Bhutan, Lebanon and Mongolia.
