                    [Summary] =>

If Japan, Korea, and even Thailand have made waves on the global cinematic scene in the modern horror-thriller genre, there is no reason why our directors and screenplay writers cannot be recognized in like manner. We hear of how Asian directors and writers are courted and wooed by Western producers, eager to find the new John Woo or Ang Lee, or the new The Ring. And time and time again, I get frustrated over how our very own are bypassed.

                    [Summary] => You, too, must have noticed it when you watched the tribute on A.S.A.P last Sunday to Sharon Cuneta who’s celebrating her 25th year in showbiz with a bang, highlighted by a two-night concert (Aug. 16 and 17) at the Araneta Coliseum. [Title] => A birthday salu-salo with stars and friends
                    [Summary] => It was such a fun salu-salo, with everybody making chicka-chika with everybody, that not one of the hundred or so guests remembered to ask how old – or how young – the celebrator, Regal Matriarch (Mother) Lily Monteverde was turning that Sunday, Aug. 19. Besides, you don’t ask a woman how old – er, young – she is, whether it’s her birthday or not, do you?

She cut her hair into a stylish boy’s cut. However, she didn’t do so because she was losing hair due to tension and stress. That could have happened last year but thank God, it didn’t! She simply cut it because it’s hot.

And right after her first public appearance, thousands of Regine’s fans, mostly girls and gays went to their hairdressers to get a similar style. Regine can’t help but be amused and flattered.
