Selma Star shone brightly under blue, clear skies around the Boracay waters Thursday, ending Irresistible’s streak by ruling the Oakley Race in Day Two of the 15th President’s Cup Regatta.


The First 36.7 of Jun Avecilla, with an IRC handicap of 1:039, topped the long event at 1:30:15 after placing second in the windward and leeward race behind Irresistible Wednesday.


Irresistible, Harry Taylor’s S&S 36 which also triumphed in the Manila-Boracay Race 2007, fared poorly this time, missing the Magic 3.

Irresistible once again sailed triumphantly in Boracay’s blue, clear waters, topping the opening race of the President’s Cup Regatta to put herself in strong contention for the inaugural e-Standard Insurance Boracay Series championship.


Crowned the Manila-Boracay Race winner Tuesday night, Harry Taylor’s S&S 36 scored a follow-up victory by ruling the American Express Race, a windward and leeward event kicking off the four-day President’s Cup Regatta around the Boracay and Tablas Strait waters.

BORACAY — With four former winners on the start list, the 2007 President’s Cup Regatta could be an exciting battle among Asia’s topnotch yachts which are also vying for the inaugural e-Standard Insurance Boracay Series championship.


Reigning champion Centennial and past titlist Mandrake, Hi-Fidelity and Karakoa banner the field which were to start their in-shore races around Boracay and the Tablas strait yesterday afternoon.
