This question was asked of the court by former Ifugao  governor Amado Almazan (Lakas), who told the weekly Balitaan sa Rembrandt Hotel forum in Quezon City that he wants the lower court to clarify the provision in the 1987 Constitution setting a limit of one term on all presidents elected under the current Charter.

                    [Summary] => The Ombudsman indicted a businessman-friend of former President Joseph Estrada for plunder yesterday, making them co-defendants in a landmark trial.


Prosecutors asked the Sandiganbayan to include Jaime Dichaves among defendants, describing the businessman as the bagman of the ousted leader.


"He (Dichaves) abetted, conspired with and prevailed upon Estrada to exert pressure on two state pension funds to buy shares of stock in listed firm Belle Corp. while Estrada was president," Ombudsman Aniano Desierto said.

Leading the charge sheet filed with the Office of the Ombudsman were former Social Security System (SSS) president Carlos Arellano and former Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) president Federico Pascual, who allegedly tolerated Estrada’s unlawful use of P1.8 billion sourced from the two pension funds.
