                    [Summary] => The Senior Officers’ Placement and Promotion’s Board (SOPPB) at Camp Crame has prepared a list of five candidates for the top post of the Manila Police District (MPD), which will be vacated by the retirement of Chief Superintendent Pedro Bulaong on Aug. 1.


The SOPPB list has been submitted to Metro police chief Director Vidal Querol, who is set to meet with Manila Mayor Lito Atienza this weekend.


"I will reveal to him the names of the candidates, from which he can choose Chief Superintendent Bulaong’s replacement," Querol said.

The race for the top post of the Manila Police District (MPD) is now a toss-up between two members of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Class ’78, in which President Arroyo is a honorary member.


Eyeing the post to be vacated by Chief Superintendent Pedro Bulaong are Chief Superintendent Roberto Rosales, executive officer of the Directorate for Human Resource and Doctrine Development (DHRDD) at Camp Crame and Senior Superintendent Nilo de la Cruz, assigned at the NCRPO headquarters in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig.
