Ex-Tokhang surrenderer shot dead
DUMAGUETE CITY, Philippines — A former Tokhang surrenderer was shot dead while having dinner inside his house at sitio Canday-ong in Barangay Calindagan of Dumaguete City Friday night.
Senior Inspector Fortunato Villafuerte, deputy chief of the Dumaguete Police, identified the victim as Mark Christopher Teves Camba, 46 years old.
Camba was having dinner with his 14-year-old nephew when three unidentified balaclava-wearing men suddenly barged into the victim's house through the back door.
One of the men reportedly said, "Asa na ang kwarta ug shabu?" (Where are the money and drugs?). The men then told Camba’s nephew to go to another room. Shortly after, several gunshots rang out, police said.
The assailants immediately fled from the scene, and when Guevara emerged from the room, he saw his bleeding uncle crying out for help, and eventually died of his injuries. Police findings showed Camba was shot thrice in the head, using a .45-caliber pistol.
Villafuerte said the killing may have been drug-related as the suspects were reportedly demanding him of shabu.
