Missing woman found dead in river

Ric V. Obedencio - The Freeman

ANTEQUERA, BOHOL, Philippines – A woman, who has been reported missing for almost three days after the onslaught of tropical storm Seniang last December 29, was found dead, according to Mayor Mario Pahang of this earthquake-stricken town last night.

Pahang did not yet give details on the recovery of the cadaver, which identity was also uncertain at this time although he said her family name was Tambis and a native of Barangay Tupaz of this town.

The body of Tambis was believed to have drifted and recovered in nearby town of Cortes where the Abatan River overflowed. Her death brought to seven fatalities due to Seniang here in Bohol.

Pahang, meanwhile, confirmed that the bridge in Barangay Tabuan had collapsed as a result of the flashflood spawned by Seniang. This isolated the residents there, and the provincial government had delivered relief goods to them yesterday.
