HILONGOS, LEYTE, Philippines — An estimated 10,000 people turned out for UNA’s Team Roble’s  miting de avance staged at Plaza Rizal in this town Wednesday night.

Reelectionist Mayor Jose Emery “Joy” Roble outlined to the crowd what he had done during his term for all Hilongosnons, such as road concreting in some barangays and the improvement of the municipal gym.

Roble also emphasized one of the most important project, the 24/7 Action Center, which houses the police force, fire department and ambulance service in order to respond to emergency cases. This will be working 24 hours and seven days a week in order to render services needed by the people of Hilongos.

The mayor also expounded on his program for job creation, which he said would be done by inviting investors to provide employment to Hilongosnons.

He also said education of the youths must be given importance, and he started this with the ongoing scholarship programs for those who could not afford school expenses.

Vice-mayoralty candidate Luz Alcuino Zapata, in her speech, vowed to provide her full support to the programs of Roble for the benefit of Hilongosnons.
