Danny B. Dangcalan - The Freeman

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — The senatorial candidates of the Team PNoy will arrive in Bacolod tomorrow (Feb. 22) for their first group appearances in key cities in Negros Occidental.

Liberal Party campaign manager Senator Franklin Drilon, who was here for the mass wedding last Feb. 16, however said President Benigno Aquino III as well as a few of the candidates will not be able to attend the political event.

Team PNoy consists of Sonny Angara (LDP), Bam Aquino (LP), Alan Peter Cayetano (NP), Chiz Escudero (independent), Risa Hontiveros-Baraquel (Akbayan), Loren Legarda (NPC), Jamby Madrigal (LP), Ramon Magsaysay Jr. (LP), Koko Pimentel (PDP-Laban), Grace Poe (independent), Antonio Trillanes IV (NP), and Cynthia Villar (NP).

Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia, who belongs to the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC), yesterday said they are preparing for the arrival of Team PNoy senatorial aspirants, who are in Iloilo today.

The senatorial hopefuls will attend the LP women rally at the Bacolod Pavilion Resort and then proceed to the northern part of Negros Occidental in the afternoon, with short stops in Victorias City, Silay City and Talisay City. Later on, they will return to Bacolod City for the political rally at the public plaza at 5 p.m.

Leonardia said they are working on a party teamwork as a partnership with the LP.  We have informed our supporters for this event, he said.

“We have friends in the UNA (United Negros Alliance), but we are guided by the party teamwork in line with partnership and coalition of LP and NPC,” Leonardia said. (FREEMAN)
