Tiwala si Ramirez

MANILA, Philippines — Naniniwala si Philippine Sports Commission chairman William “Butch” Ramirez na may magandang resulta sa ginastos nilang P1 bilyon para sa pagsasanay at paghahanda ng mga Filipino athletes sa 30th Southeast Asian Games.

Ayon kay Ramirez, abala sa pagbisita sa mga ve-nues na ginagamit at gagamitin sa 2019 SEA Games, determinado ang PSC na tulungan ang mga national athletes na marating ang world-class standards sa kanilang mga performance sa international scene.

“We spent P1 billion for the training and exposure of our athletes abroad,” wika ng Chef De Miission ng Team Philippines. “Never in history of our country has government been this supportive of the Filipino athlete, financially. Ngayon lang nangyari ito sa pamunuan ng ating pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.”

Malaking bahagi ng nasabing pondo ay ibinuhos ng sports agency sa mga international training at exposure ng mga atleta pati na sa mga equipment, foreign coaches, education at nutrition.

“We want them to be physically and mentally equipped when they represent the country in foreign competitions. Our support to them actually is not just geared for these SEA Games, but even beyond because we want to create a foundation in these games where we can build on our gains,” ani Ramirez.

Hindi lamang tumitingin ang PSC sa ipapakita ng mga national athletes sa 2019 SEA Games kundi ma-ging sa mga malalaking torneo sa susunod na mga taon.

“I am confident that our P1-billion investment on our athletes will bear fruit,” ani Ramirez.
