Taulava ABL-MVP
MANILA, Philippines - Ang San Miguel Beer center na si Paul Asi Taulava ang hinirang na Asean Basketball League (ABL) Most Valua-ble Player.
Ang 40 taong gulang na si Taulava ay huling nanalo ng MVP award noong 2003 sa Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).
“I’m very happy about winning this award. I felt vindicated when others doubted my ability to compete. With this award, I think was able to prove them wrong,†wika ni Taulava.
“But the most important thing is to win the championship for the Beermen. This award won’t be complete without the championship,†dagdag pa niya.
Magsisimula ang ABL finals sa darating na Biyernes sa Ynares Sports Arena.
Tinalo ni Taulava si Chris Banchero, Froilan Baguion ng Sports Rev Thailand Slammers, Jai Reyes ng Saigon Heat at Mario Wuysang ng Indonesia Warriors.
Noong isang taon ay si Leo Avenido ang hinirang na MVP ng liga.
Nag-average si Taulava ng 10.9 points at 7.4 rebounds sa kanyang unang ABL season.
“We have some very talented players in our league, and any one of them would have made an excellent ASEAN MVP - and it is a testament to Asi Taulava that he was selected by the teams for this award,†wika ni ABL Chief Executive Officer Anthony Macri.
