Andi kinilabutan sa mga pasaway na kaluluwa

YSTAR - Baby E - Pang-masa

As if ‘di sapat ang pagkakaroon ng tatlong entries na pawang horror-suspense sa magtatapos ngayong araw na Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), ang Feng Shui, Kubot, The Aswang Chronicles 2, and Shake Rattle and Roll XV. Heto kasi at ang first offering ng Viva Films for the year 2015 ay ang tinagurian nilang horror treat na Tragic Theater.

The film, directed by Tikoy Aguiluz stars Andi Eigenmann, John Estrada, at Christopher de Leon.

Based on a novel, written by G.M. Coronel, the author said a real event inspired him to do the story.

People, now in their 30s or probably, much older, still remember the biggest tragedy that happened in the country particularly in Metro Manila on the 1980s.

A film center, which was being rushed into completion for a major international film event, suddenly collapsed and several workers got killed in the process.

Balitang ang mga namatay numbered to about 150 to 168. And not only that, usap-usapang may mga namatay na hindi naman sana dapat dahil na-trap lang ang mga ito ng steel bars. Kaya, in short, puwede pang mai-rescue.

“Before I started shooting for the movie,’’ ani Andi. ‘‘I made sure I read the book.

‘‘I read it in one sitting. And I have to admit, bawat chapter na binabasa ko, kinikilabutan ako.

‘‘Yet, I made sure I finished the book,’’ tukoy ni Andi.

‘‘Kaya, akala ko,’’ Andi further stated. ‘‘’Di na ako gaanong matatakot kapag pinanood ko ang movie.

‘‘Wow, far from it. Twice or even more mas horrifying ang film version nitong Tragic Theater,’’ susog pa ni Andi.

While she plays an employee of the Department of Tourism, assigned to make sure na walang masamang spirit na umaaligid o namamahay sa building na kinatatakutan ng marami, para matapos na ang IMAX Theater na kanilang ipinatatayo inside the structure.

Tragic Theater opens in theaters nationwide starting on January 8.

Kumpirmado, Kris talunan kay Vice Ganda

Among the three horror suspense flick in the MMFF, pinaka-highest grosser of course, ang Feng Shui 2, which starred Kris Aquino at Coco Martin.

MMFF officials reportedly confirmed that Feng Shui placed second to The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin, which is the confirmed top grossing film entry.

The Amazing, directed by Wenn Deramas, starred Vice Ganda, Richard Yap, Alex Gonzaga, at Bimby Aquino-Yap.

Speaking of Kris, while she said, she is happy over the box-office success of her MMFF entry Feng Shui 2, which incidentally, her Kris Cojuangco-Aquino Productions, co-produced with Star Cinema, what makes Christmas 2014 most memorable sa kanya is the reconciliation na naganap between her and former ‘‘best friend forever (BFF),’’ AiAi delas Alas.

Over a year din kasi silang ‘di nagbabatian ni AiAi. And she admits, siya ang may kasalanan.

But since it’s all water under the bridge ang naging cause ng kanilang pag-aaway, she’d rather not speak of it the second time around.
