UC, SWU mokumbati sa bayugan basketball
CEBU, Philippines – Tuyo sa Phoenix Fuel Life-University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters ug Mair Construction/Southwestern University (SWU)-Phinma Cobras nga pahugtan pa ang ilang preparasyon sa umaabot nga 18th Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI) season pinaagi sa ilang pagsalmot sa 8th Mayor Kim Lope A. Asis Invitational Basketball Tournament karong Hunyo 26-29 didto sa Lope Asis Memorial Gymnasium sa Bayugan City, Agusan del Sur.
Ang UC ug SWU naglangkob sa unom ka teams nga mokumbati sa torneyo nga gihan-ay aron pagdugang og lamas sa selebrasyon sa ika-11 nga Charter Day ug Bayug Festival sa Bayugan.
"For the past eight years, it has been customary for us to treat our constituents with a very exciting and highly entertaining basketball action to make our Charter Day and Bayug Festival celebration more memorable and meaningful," matud pa ni Bayugan Mayor Kim Lope Asis sa usa ka pamahayag.
Gawas sa Webmasters ug Cobras, mobanat sab sa labing dako nga inter-collegiate basketball sa Mindanao nga modalit og kapin sa tunga sa milyon ka pesos ngadto sa mga mananaog mao ang Vincare Pharma-University Sto. Tomas (UST) Growling Tigers, Madyaw Construction-National University (NU) Bulldogs, ARQ Builders-Lyceum Polytechnic University (LPU) Pirates of Manila, ug Greene Builders/Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan Crusaders.
Bahinon sila ngadto sa duha ka grupo ug moduwa ubos sa single round robin format. Ang top 2 matag bracket maoy moabante sa crossover semifinals. Ang mga mananaog maoy mag-abot sa kampiyonato, samtang ang mga pildero magtige alang sa ikatulong puwesto.
