Thank you

This letter is an appreciation and recognition of our soldiers.  They were immediately at the scene of devastation when Bohol province was hit by an earthquake last Oct. 15, 2013. Pictures of them in newspapers helping victims buried under the rubble is a countless repeat of their involvement in past disasters, mudslides, landslides, typhoons and whenever tragedies and calamities strike.

 We owe them not only our lives and the many instances they helped us survive. We were victims of typhoon Ondoy in Cainta in 2010, and soldiers assisted us from being trapped in our neck-deep, flooded house. We can never repay their sacrifices risking their own lives.

Some of us may have relatives and loved ones affected by the recent earthquake, but we are sure there is help on the way. We also thank President Aquino who immediately mobilized government agencies to help in the effort to help earthquake victims.

To our soldiers, you carry the heavy burden but you carry it with love and commitment. Thank you!
