Special holidays declared in 5 areas
MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang has declared special non-working days in five areas to allow residents to participate in local events and celebrations.
Proclamation 1397 declared Aug. 28 a special non-working day in the municipality of San Agustin in Romblon for the celebration of the Kalipayan Festival.
Sept. 3 is a special non-working day in Iriga, Camarines Sur as provided under Proclamation 1398, to mark the city’s 58th charter anniversary.
Proclamation 1399 declared Sept. 8 a special non-working day in Loon, Bohol for the celebration of the SidlaKasilak Festival or the Festival of Lights.
Sept. 12 is a special holiday in Siquijor to mark the 54th anniversary of the town’s declaration as the capital of the province of Siquijor, according to Proclamation 1400.
Proclamation 1401 declared Sept. 14 a special non-working day in Monkayo, Davao de Oro for the celebration of the municipality’s 72nd founding anniversary.
The proclamations were signed by Executive Secretary Ralph Recto on Aug. 20 by the authority of President Marcos.
