SR&T on the doorstep of CABC crown

CEBU, Philippines — The SR&T Industrial Supply upended Boysen Paints, 88-73, to take a 1-0 head start in their best-of-three finals in the Cebu Architects Basketball Club (CABC) 8th Corporate Cup at Game Changer Sports Facility along Hernan Cortes Street in Barangay Banilad, Mandaue City.
Dexsel Caadan delivered a double-double of 20 points and 13 rebounds with three assists and three blocks as SR&T moved a win away from clinching the crown.
Chester Hinagdanan and Criz Matunog combined for 23 points and eight rebounds for SR&T, which trailed 41-44 at halftime.
But SR&T flipped the script with an explosive second-half performance that saw them leading by as many as 16 points, 85-69, in the closing minutes of the contest.
Lemuel Aspacio paced Boysen with 19 points while Justin Aspacio and Kim Rebosura each scored 12 in a losing effort.
Game 2 is scheduled on Sunday, August 23.
In the knockout battle for third place, Rei Aureo and James Nacario both produced a double-double as Corr Chem blasted Landlite, 102-72.
Aureo collected 26 points and 14 rebounds with two assists and a steal while Nacario dished out 22 points and 13 rebounds with three assists and two steals.
