LRT-2 expands free parking for train-riding motorists
MANILA, Philippines — The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) has announced that it will expand the complimentary parking service at Legarda Station for train-riding motorists starting Monday.
Acting Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez said this initiative aims to address traffic congestion, reduce fuel consumption and cut overall travel costs and time for commuters.
“This free parking is a big help for our passengers to help vehicle owners save on gasoline or diesel and to accelerate their travel to their destination,” Lopez said.
According to the Department of Transportation, the complimentary parking will be available from 4 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. daily on a first-come, first-served basis.
The DOTr advised motorists to park only in designated spaces, secure their vehicles and avoid leaving valuables unattended inside their cars.
Motorists must secure a parking stub from LRTA security personnel and have it validated at the passenger assistance office.
The validated parking stub must be presented upon exit.
