Davao named best city for travel

MANILA, Philippines — Travel and destination guide World Travel Index has listed Davao City as the best in the Philippines for the second time in a row, according to the WTI April 2026 rankings.

Davao City garnered an overall world index rating of 75.66 for offering the best conditions for a good travel experience, a slight increase from its 2025 rating of 75.48.

Davao was followed by the cities of Puerto Princesa (74.68), Makati (73.82), Baguio (73.78), Dumaguete (73.61), Cebu (73.29), Iloilo (71.22), Manila (68.98), Legazpi (68.29) and Lapu-Lapu (67.70).

“The destination Philippines is characterized as well-developed and worth visiting,” WTI wrote.

The Philippines, scoring 76.23 in the index, ranked 33rd out of 193 countries due to its compelling overall experience.

The World Travel Index is a global travel data platform that ranks cities and countries according to relevant standards on safety, affordability, infrastructure and tourism appeal.
