Special holidays declared in 9 areas

MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang has declared special non-working holidays in nine areas in the country, allowing residents to participate in the celebration of local founding and charter anniversaries as well as festivals.
Proclamation 1219 and 1220 declared April 30 a special non-working day in the municipalities of San Francisco, Quezon and Calatagan, Batangas, respectively.
Residents of San Francisco will mark the town’s founding anniversary, while Calatagan will celebrate Cultural Day.
May 5 is a special non-working day in Santiago, Isabela as provided under Proclamation 1225 for the celebration of the city’s anniversary.
Proclamations 1226, 1227 and 1228 declared May 8 a special non-working day in President Roxas, Cotabato; Bayog, Zamboanga del Sur, and Caramoan, Camarines Sur, respectively.
Residents of President Roxas and Bayog will mark the municipalities’ 59th founding anniversary, while Caramoan will observe its founding anniversary.
Proclamation 1229 declared May 9 a special non-working day in San Jose, Negros Oriental for the celebration of its Charter Day.
Proclamations 1230 and 1231 declared May 11 a special non-working day in Llanera, Nueva Ecija and Aparri, Cagayan, in observance of the towns’ 71st and 346th anniversaries, respectively.
