2 dead, 5 injured in Marikina road crash

MANILA, Philippines — Two people died and five others were injured after a truck loaded with sugar crashed into a store in Marikina yesterday.
Col. Jenny Tecson, city police chief, said the truck rear-ended a car before hitting three other vehicles along A. Bonifacio Avenue in Barangay Barangka.
Tecson added that the truck hit a nine-year-old boy who was crossing the street and a 26-year-old man buying from a fried chicken store. Both died on the spot.
Five other pople were injured.
Tecson said the driver, identified only as Domingo, was placed under custody as investigators prepare the complaints of reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicide, multiple physical injuries and damage to property.
