2 PCG men nabbed in Cebu, Davao stings

MANILA, Philippines — Two members of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) have been arrested in separate anti-narcotics operations in Cebu and Davao this week.
The PCG withheld the identities of the suspects pending results of investigation.
PCG chief Adm. Ronnie Gil Gavan placed the officers under preventive suspension to ensure an impartial and speedy investigation.
PCG spokesperson Cmdre. Noemie Cayabyab said the agency is cooperating with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and other law enforcement agencies in conducting the investigation and filing of appropriate charges.
Cayabyab said that if proven guilty, the PCG personnel will face criminal and administrative sanctions including dismissal from the service with forfeiture of benefits.
