MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Health Insurance Corp. has paid P107.47 billion in medical claims for the first quarter this year, the PhilHealth reported yesterday.
In its latest data, PhilHealth said the payments to hospitals and other health facilities from Jan. 1 to March 31 is 61.78 percent higher compared to the P66.42-billion payment the agency made during the same period in 2025.

Government health facilities were paid higher benefit claims at P43.53 billion – a 56.29-percent increase from the P27.85 billion PhilHealth made during the same period in 2025.
The state health insurer said the figures were based on reports, including those recorded under the daily payment crediting scheme implemented in PhilHealth regional offices in the Cordillera Administrative Region, Calabarzon, Zamboanga Peninsula, Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao and Caraga.
According to PhilHealth, faster claims payments will help health facilities provide uninterrupted medical services for patients and ensure the continuous rollout and expansion of benefit packages for members, including laboratory tests, treatments and medicines.
The agency said the improvement of benefits aims to lower the out-of-pocket expenses of its members.
