Rapper ‘Hev Abi,’ 6 others nabbed over alleged unlawful firearm possession

MANILA, Philippines — Rapper "Hev Abi" has been arrested by the police on Tuesday, April 14.

According to a police report on Thursday, April 16, the rapper and six other individuals were arrested by authorities in Diliman, Quezon City, acting on a search warrant for firearms, according to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-National Capital Region (CIDG-NCR). 

According to the police, they seized a loose firearm, a magazine and live ammunition. 

The seized firearms and ammunition are the following:

  • G3 Taurus Cal. 9mm pistol 
  • A magazine of G3 Taurus Cal. 9mm pistol
  • Fifteen pieces of live ammunition of G3 Taurus Cal. 9mm 

Aside from firearms, the police also recovered 11 cartridges containing suspected liquid marijuana, four sealed transparent plastic containers containing powder suspected to be “cocaine” and paraphernalia containing suspected marijuana.

The rapper was expected to perform at UP Fair’s “Kalye Tunes” on April 15. But due to the arrest, which was just announced on Thursday, he did not appear.
