Go turns over Super Health Center in Bukidnon
MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Bong Go has strengthened efforts to provide accessible health care to the grassroots level by leading the turnover of a Super Health Center in San Fernando, Bukidnon on Monday.
Go thanked local officials – Mayor Rogelio Yeke, Vice Mayor Jeaser Mae Yeke and Councilor Ebenezer Barrientos – for attending the ceremony, and acknowledged Senate Majority Leader Migz Zubiri, Gov. Oneil Roque and Vice Gov. Clive Quiño.
The senator expressed gratitude to uniformed personnel securing the event and recognized their dedications and sacrifices for the service.
As an advocate of the grassroots health care reform, Go supports the establishment of Super Health Centers nationwide, bringing essential medical services closer to communities.
To date, more than 700 Super Health Centers have been established nationwide, including six in Bukidnon.
Designed as an intermediate facility between rural health units and major hospitals, Super Health Centers offer primary care consultations under the Konsulta package, laboratory testing, birthing services, dental care, outpatient services and access to essential medicines.
As vice chairman of the Senate committee on health, Go said the initiative is a collaboration among officials of the Department of Health, local government units and lawmakers.
Go said the Super Health Center is different from his first pet project, the Malasakit Center, as the initiative directly delivers health services to the people.
He stressed the importance of the Super Health Center for people living in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas where access to hospitals remains limited.
