4 killed in Cotabato gun attack

COTABATO CITY, Philippines — Four people including three minors were killed in an attack by unidentified assailants in Matalam, Cotabato on Thursday night.

Rashid Mampo, 19; Rica Jane Maidlos, 18; Daryl Diansya, 16, and Russel Kim Diansya, 11, were on a motorcycle when a group of armed men waylaid them in Barangay New Abra.

The victims’ 14-year-old companion was taken to a hospital for treatment of gunshot wounds, according to Lt. Bonel Cabuyao, deputy chief of the Matalam police.

The assailants managed to escape before responding barangay officials and watchmen could reach the scene.
