MANILA, Philippines — To link Grade 12 student-beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program to agencies that provide higher education, skills training and business opportunities, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is encouraging 4Ps scholars to attend the “CareerPathWATCH.”

Irene Dumlao, DSWD spokesperson, said the initiative aims to gather information on the preferred career pathways of 4Ps Grade 12 students to link them to government agencies that can help provide higher education, skills training and business opportunities after finishing senior high school.

“We can help our youth 4Ps to finish Grade 12 through the help of CareerPathWATCH… The assistance can be in the form of referral to scholarship grants, a job or help to set up a business,” Dumlao said in a statement.

She added that the collected data would be referred to the Commission on Higher Education, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority and Department of Labor and Employment.

Dumlao said attendance to the CareerPathWATCH would serve as equivalent to compliance with the monthly family development session for December.

Launched in 2008, 4Ps is a government strategy to combat poverty wherein qualified households receive conditional cash grants for their children’s education, health and nutrition.
