MANILA, Philippines — Cloudy and rainy weather may persist in some parts of the country today due to three weather systems – a shear line, an intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) and easterlies – that affect the country, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.

According to PAGASA, the three weather systems would bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies, isolated to scattered rains, and thunderstorms in most parts of the country.

The shear line will affect the provinces of Cagayan, Isabela and Apayao.

Palawan and Mindanao will be affected by the ITCZ, while the easterlies will blow over Metro Manila and the provinces of Aurora, Quezon and Camarines Norte, and the entire Visayas.

Batanes and Ilocos Norte will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon or amihan.

Winds and coastal waters in the northern and western sections of Northern Luzon will become moderate to strong with waves of up to 3.7 meters, while the rest of the country may experience light to moderate winds and coastal waters.
