MANILA, Philippines — Four foreign pedophiles were denied entry at airports in Metro Manila, Pampanga and Cebu from Oct. 26 to Nov. 4, according to the Bureau of Immigration (BI).
Julian Johnson, 56, arrived on Oct. 26 at the Clark International Airport on a flight from Taipei.
Convicted in 1996 for lewd or lascivious acts with a child in the United States, Johnson was sentenced to one year in prison and five years on probation.
Stefan Andrew Alletson, 34, arrived on Oct. 26 at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on a Cathay Pacific flight from Hong Kong.
A former football coach, the New Zealander had pleaded guilty after being convicted for sending sexually explicit photographs to boys aged 14.
Leo Paul Houle, 77, is a Canadian convicted in 2018 of child sexual abuse.
Houle arrived on Oct. 30 at the Mactan-Cebu International Airport.
Charles White, 69, is an American convicted in 2007 for sexually abusing a 15-year-old victim.
Authorities intercepted White on Nov. 4 at the NAIA.
The BI has blacklisted the four sex offenders.
Together with the Philippine Center on Transnational Crime and international law enforcement agencies, the BI is monitoring and apprehending criminal visitors.
“The Philippines will never be a safe haven for convicted predators,” Immigration Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado said. “Our airports serve as the first line of defense in protecting children and we will continue to strengthen border security through the #ShieldKids campaign.”
