Bus rams eatery; 2 dead

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga , Philippines — A couple died after a bus crashed into their eatery in Santa Rosa, Nueva Ecija on Wednesday morning.

Edwardo Yumol, 56, and his wife Rochelle were asleep in the eatery in Barangay Sto. Rosario when the accident occurred. They were rushed to the Nueva Ecija Doctors’ Hospital where they died while being treated, according to Col. Henryl Bruno, Nueva Ecija police director.

Driver Edgardo Caratiguit, 53, reportedly lost control of the wheel, causing the bus to hit a van parked along the road before crashing into the eatery.

Caratiguit suffered severe head injuries and was rushed to the same hospital for treatment.
