2 cops relieved for flagging driver over horn blowing

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines — Two members of the Angeles City Police Office were relieved from their posts for pulling over a truck driver who blew the vehicle’s horn at a patrol car.
Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Peñones Jr., acting Central Luzon police director, said the “action of our personnel was based on their immediate judgment at the time to ensure road safety and order.”
“Nevertheless, we recognize that such situations should always be approached with professionalism, calmness and respect,” Peñones said, as he acknowledged a video that went viral online.
The video, he noted, showed the truck driver being pulled over by the police officers. The driver had reportedly honked at a police patrol car for making a “sudden maneuver.”
“As part of our protocol, the personnel involved have already been relieved from their posts pending the outcome of a thorough investigation. We do not condone any form of unprofessional behavior from either drivers or uniformed personnel,” Peñones said.
