TNVS driver’s slay: Dashcam leads

MANILA, Philippines — NBI to suspects The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has filed murder charges against three suspects in the killing of a transport network vehicle service (TNVS) driver who went missing in Parañaque in May, with dashcam footage playing a key role in identifying the perpetrators.
NBI agent Joseph Martinez, who is probing the case, said dashcam audio from the car driven by Raymond Cabrera recorded the moment he pleaded for his life as three passengers attacked him in the vehicle.
The dashcam was recovered after the vehicle was found abandoned and soaked in blood in Malanday, Valenzuela on May 18.
“We reviewed the dashcam and saw where the car went. We also heard conversations, with the victim begging for his life,” Martinez said in an interview on dzBB.
The suspects had booked Cabrera for a ride from Parañaque to Molino, Cavite. Cabrera went missing after he dropped off the passengers.
Authorities believe that it was a case of robbery and car theft.
The NBI has identified the three suspects through dashcam footage and closed-circuit television clips, which also showed two of the assailants disembarking from the vehicle at a convenience store before riding a pedicab and another car.
The body of Cabrera has yet to be found.
The Department of Justice has started its preliminary investigation on the case.
