Teves arraignment on Degamo slay set for June 10

MANILA, Philippines — Expelled Negros Oriental congressman Arnolfo Teves Jr. is set to be arraigned at 2 p.m. on June 10 before the Manila Regional Trial Court Branch 51 on charges linked to the 2023 Pamplona massacre.
Teves faces 10 counts of murder, 13 counts of frustrated murder and five counts of attempted murder in connection with the March 4, 2023 attack that killed former Negros Oriental governor Roel Degamo and nine others and injured 18 more.
National Bureau of Investigation Director Jaime Santiago confirmed to The STAR the arraignment schedule, adding that Teves remains in NBI custody at the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa.
On June 5, Teves was arraigned before Manila RTC Branch 12 for illegal possession of firearms and explosives. He refused to enter a plea, prompting the judge to enter a not guilty plea on his behalf.
Teves is also facing multiple cases across different courts, including murder, terrorism financing and firearms violations.
