MANILA, Philippines — Barangays and city departments in San Juan will receive pickup trucks, vans and buses as part of the local government’s vehicle refleeting program.

Boosting the delivery and efficiency of public services across the city, San Juan’s 21 barangays will each get a Mitsubishi Triton pickup truck and a Toyota Tamaraw utility van, Mayor Francis Zamora said over the weekend.

City hall departments will be issued Mitsubishi Tritons, Toyota Hiace vans, Toyota Lite Ace mini trucks, Mitsubishi Strada pickup trucks and Toyota Coaster buses.

The city police and Special Weapons and Tactics team will receive a Toyota Innova J sport utility vehicle and a Foton Toano van,  respectively.

A coaster bus will be assigned to the city government. The Department of Risk Reduction and Management Office will get a van.

City hall will also procure an aerial ladder firetruck.

A 32-seater and four 11-seater electric vehicles will be acquired by the local government as part of its push for sustainable transportation.

The construction of the new Eastern Police District headquarters, city police and Bureau of Fire Protection offices is underway, according to Zamora.
