PNP revokes David Tan Liao’s gun licenses

MANILA, Philippines — Six of the eight firearms registered under David Tan Liao, a principal suspect in the kidnapping and murder of steel magnate Anson Que and his driver Armanie Pabillo, have been secured by the Philippine National Police.
PNP spokesperson Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo said Liao surrendered his guns after the Firearms and Explosives Office revoked his license to own and possess firearms.
The serial numbers of five guns were intact while that of the sixth was defaced.
One of the firearms was in the possession of Richardo Austria, another suspect in Que’s murder.
Liao surrendered to the PNP on April 19 after suspects Austria and Reymart Catequista were arrested.
PNP chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil on Friday said they are considering Liao as a mastermind in Que’s kidnap-slay.
The other people whom Marbil categorized as masterminds are Gong Wenli, alias Kelly Tan Lim, and another person whom he did not identify.
