Vlogger summoned over Zambales road rage incident
MANILA, Philippines — The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has issued a show-cause order against a motovlogger who figured in a viral road rage incident in Zambales.
The LTO asked Yanna Moto Vlog to explain why her driver’s license should not be suspended or revoked for allegedly instigating the confrontation.
LTO chief Vigor Mendoza II said the incident was against the agency’s efforts to promote road safety and responsible driving.
“We have long been educating motorists that road rage only leads to negative consequences, and many have been penalized for showing similar behavior,” Mendoza said.
Video footage showed Yanna Vlog flashing a dirty finger at the driver of a pick-up truck whom she accused of reckless driving.
The driver told her that it was difficult to drive normally due to rough road condition.
Vlog, however, continued to argue and allegedly uttered insults after the driver had left.
Mendoza said that as a social media influencer, Vlog should use her platform to promote road safety instead of engaging in such incidents.
The show-cause order was issued even after Vlog made a public apology over the incident that sparked outrage from netizens.
